Events
include: The Missouri Department of Conservation will have an indoor
archery range for the younger attendees. MDC will also provide a variety of exhibits,
offering information pertaining to wildlife in north Missouri. The programs
also include face painting and a 12 x 12 foot air inflatable bounce mattress
for the kids.
Jay
Gregory, host of the Outdoor Channels "Wild Outdoors" TV
show and a self-proclaimed bowhunting addict with an emphasis on whitetail
deer with be among the noted wildlife experts presenting seminars are
answering attendee's questions. Gergory has taken over 20 Pope & Young
bucks over the years, including a monster 190-plus buck in Iowa last fall.
Professional
trophy catfisherman John Jamison, a member of
Cabela's King Kat Advisory Board and a member of Cabela's National Catfishing
Team, placed second in the nation at the 2006 King Cat Classic in Alabama and
overall has nine first places in national catfishing tournaments in the last 8
years.
James
Harrison, a professional staff member of Hook's Custom Calls, is a
noted champion wild turkey caller whose expertise has netted him three
Mid-America Open championships, a Michigan State championship, and top five
finishes at both the U.S. Open and the Grand National turkey calling
championships, plus many owl hooting championships.
Darrel
Sidney will be providing an entertaining program on hunting bears.
Sidney is a 42-year veteran in guiding bear hunts in the Canadian wilderness.
These experts
will be joined by MDC's Mountain Lion Response
Team and other seminar hosts in presenting the latest in outdoor
information to attendees at no charge other than the price of admission $4 for
adults and $1 for children under 12).
